Hemiptera Biological control Forests Immunology Pest control Symbionts Molecular biology & genomics
Previously known as the Aphid SIG, this group aims to provide a forum for the discussion of studies in Hemiptera biology.
Aphids are important pests of agriculture in Europe and many other parts of the world, not only because of their direct feeding effects but also as vectors of numerous plant diseases. Current topics of interest include pest control through IPM, population genetics and population structure using biochemical & molecular markers, dispersal, interactions with host plants and overwintering strategies. The group meets regularly at research facilities and other venues in the UK.
