Dr Gordon Port is a zoologist and ecologist with a lifelong interest in insects and other invertebrates. He’s involved in research and teaching at Newcastle University with emphasis on integrated pest management, invertebrate ecology and behaviour. His particular expertise is in the biology and behaviour of slugs. He has great interest in the public understanding of science and is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Entomological Society. He is a volunteer for the Natural History Society of Northumbria (NHSN) of which he is a trustee and is involved with various citizen science projects for the NHSN.
