Bringing the wonders of insect science to Stratford Cross

Our Insect Garden at Stratford Cross provides a haven for all kinds of insects to live, eat and thrive and is a great place to find out more about the small creatures that run the natural world. Find out how you can encourage insects in your own garden, allotment, balcony or window box and go on an interactive Bug Hunt with Lloyd of the Flies and his friends.

About the garden

Do you know your butterflies from your moths? Your hoverflies from your wasps?

The RES Insect Garden is your chance to get up close and personal with loads of incredible creatures that help sustain all life on our planet.

We have three e-newsletters – one for supporters, one for educators and one for those generally interested in insect science.

Subscribe to one or all of these and we will keep you in the know of all the ins and outs of the Royal Entomological Society.

With thanks to…

Thank you to everyone who has helped create the RES Insect Garden at Stratford Cross.

The Royal Entomological Society is a non-profit organisation and relies on publishing, membership and donations to pursue its support of scientific, educational, ecological and entomological causes.
The RES garden’s new home is in central London with a new education program providing a long-term opportunity for insect study as part of our planned UK network of gardens. The garden will show how remarkable and valuable insects are with visible insect science taking place in the unique – insect eye inspired – outdoor laboratory.
Much like the diversity of insects, there are many ways to support us and our work. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, makes a huge impact and enables us to continue to enrich the world with insect science.
